CAT 2022
- CAT 2022 was successfully conducted at 293 test centers spread across 154 cities in India on 27 November 2022 in three shifts
- The CAT 2022 score is valid only till December 31, 2023
- Around 2.22 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 2.55 lakhs registered eligible candidates.
- The overall attendance was approximately 87%.
- Out of the 2.22 lakh candidates who took the exam, 35% were Females, 65% were Males and 4 candidates represent Transgender.
- The duration of the test was of 120 minutes (160 minutes For PwD Candidates).
- The time allotted for each Section is 40 minutes (53 minutes and 20 seconds for PwD Candidates).

CAT 2022 Admission Process
Performance in the CAT 2022 examination is an important component for consideration in the selection process. IIMs may also use the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, and other similar inputs in short-listing of candidates at various stages of the selection process. The details and requirements of each IIM with respect to admission procedure will be available on the respective IIM website for reference.
CAT 2022 Next Steps
- IIMs will now release their shortlists for subsequent admission processes based on the CAT 2022 scores and other parameters as stipulated by the Government
- Each IIM will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. The criteria for shortlisting vary across IIMs.
- The process may include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interviews (PI). Performance in the CAT 2022 examination will have a higher priority in the admission process.
- IIMs may additionally use the previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience, gender, and academic diversity, and other similar inputs in shortlisting and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process.
- Candidates have to check regularly the official CAT website and the official website of the respective IIMs to find the latest information.
- Candidates are advised to check the CAT website to ensure the institutions they are applying to with the CAT score are registered with the CAT 2022 center.
