Graduate Aptitude Test Examination popularly known as GATE in India. One of the prestigious, highly popular examination in India. Qualifying, and achieving a good rank in this examination is a Dream for Young Graduate Engineers of India. Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level exam mainly intended to test the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts. GATE Examination was first conducted in the year 1983.

GATE Exam 2023 will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) which is being organized by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur will be conducted on 04th, 05th, 11th, and 12th February 2023. The GATE Exam 2023 exam will be conducted by IISc Bangalore and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee), on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI). GATE 2023 will be administered by the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.

GATE Examination will be conducted to qualify candidates for admission into various Post Graduate Courses. Qualifying in the GATE examination will be accepted throughout India for admission into various Institutions/Universities. This is the most widely accepted examination for higher education admissions and recruitment to various central and state government jobs.

GATE Exam 2022 was conducted by the IIT Kharagpur. The results for the GATE 2022 were declared by IITK on 17th March 2022. The GATE 2022 in a nutshell was given for the GATE 2023 aspirants to correlate important dates with the 2023 exam.

GATE 2023 Eligibility Criteria

 

Candidate must ensure that he/she meets the educational eligibility criteria of GATE 2023. A candidate who is currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program OR has already completed any government approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2023 exam.

There is NO age limit to appear for GATE 2023. There is no restriction on the number of attempts. One can appear any number of times. The candidate is free to choose any of the papers a maximum of two from the given combinations. However, the candidate should select the paper appropriate to his/her qualifying degree.

Documents Required for Filling the Online Application Form in GATE 2023

  1. High quality image of candidate’s photograph
  2. High quality image of candidate’s signature
  3. Scanned copy of Category (SC/ST) certificate in pdf format (if applicable)
  4. Scanned copy of PwD Certificate in pdf format (if applicable)
  5. Scanned copy of Certificate of Dyslexia (if applicable) in pdf format
  6. Scanned copy of any of the valid photo Identity documents: Aadhar-UID (preferable), Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID and Driving License (should have Name, Date of birth of the candidate and unique Photo ID number. This must be carried in original to the examination hall for verification)

  1. Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parent’s name, parent’s mobile number, etc.).
    1. Please note that the name of the candidate in the application form must exactly be the same as that in the valid photo ID, which the candidate MUST produce in original while appearing for the GATE-2023 examination at the centre.
    2. GATE Exam 2023 scorecard will be issued as per the name entered in the application form.
    3. Prefix/title such as Mr / Shri / Dr / Mrs / Smt / Prof / Capt / Maj / Lt / Col / Er / Ar, etc. MUST NOT be used before the name.

  3. Eligibility degree details.
  4. GATE paper(s) / subjects and their codes in which the candidate wishes to appear.

  1. For Multi-sessional papers, the Candidate will be assigned to appear only in one of the sessions for the papers running in multiple sessions.
