JoSAA Counselling
JoSAA Joint Seat Allocation Authority has started the Candidate registration/choice filling for academic programs under JoSAA. Candidates who qualify Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) can fill their AAT-specific choices starting from September 17, 2022, after the declaration of the AAT result.
Ministry of Education previously known as the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) has set up has been set up by The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2022. JoSAA was set up to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions into various 114 institutes. This is for the academic year 2022-23. The 114 institutes include 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 33 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). JoSAA was set up as a single platform for Admission to all the academic programs offered by these 114 Institutes.

JoSAA Opening and Closing Ranks in previous years
JoSAA has officially issued the Opening Rank, Closing Rank for a Selected Programme, for a Selected Institution, for the selected Seat Type/Category for the past years. This will be very useful for this year’s qualified candidates to have a basic idea about the JoSAA Cutoff rank. This will enable them to identify the seat allotment chances of their choice Institution.

JoSAA Certificate Format

JoSAA 2022 Online Registration & Choice Filling
As the JEE (Advanced) 2022 Results were declared on 11-09-2022, JoSAA has given the Notification for the Online Registration and Choice Filling.
Candidate Registration/choice filling for academic programs under JoSAA Started on 12-09-2022. Candidate registration and choice filling for academic programs under JoSAA 2022 Ends (Auto/System Locking of Choices) on 21-09-2022.
Candidates have to visit the official website for Online Registration.
The candidate has to do JoSAA log in with JEE (Main) Application Number for Online Registration. If registered for JEE(Advanced) 2022 then use JEE(Advanced) 2022 password. Otherwise use JEE(Main) 2022 password.
- If registered in JEE (Main) 2022 then use JEE (Main) 2022 Application No.
- Candidates who have not registered in JEE (Main) 2022 and applied for JEE (Advanced) 2022 then use JEE (Main) 2021 Application No.
- If registered for JEE (Advanced) 2022 then use JEE (Advanced) 2022 password. Otherwise use JEE (Main) 2022 password.
Candidates must take a printout of the final locked choices for submission during reporting.

FAQ
1. Candidate qualified in JEE (Advanced) 2021 and is interested in taking admission in one of the IITs. Is it required to register on the JoSAA portal?
The candidates must register through the official JoSAA 2021 online portal, to be able to obtain seats to be allocated through JoSAA 2021 in any of the IITs, NITs, IIEST, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other-GFTIs. Please refer to Clause 1 in the JoSAA Business Rules.
2. Is it allowed to make further changes to the choice list, once the candidate locked the choices?
Before the choice filling deadline, one can edit the choices by submitting a request to JoSAA to unlock the portal for that particular candidate. Refer to Clause 39 for a detailed procedure.
3. Choice filling deadline is already over. How can make any changes to my choice list at this point?
It is not possible to edit the choice after the deadline for choice filling.
4. What happens if the candidate saved his last filled choice list but, forgets to lock them? Now the choice filling deadline is over?
If a candidate fails to lock his choices, the last saved choices will be locked automatically. This automatically locked choice list will be considered for allocating a seat during JoSAA.
5. Who can apply for JoSAA 2022?
For IIT Admissions only JEE Advanced Qualified candidates are eligible. JEE Main and Advanced qualified candidates have to mandatorily apply for JoSAA 2022 for admissions.
6. What is the procedure of JoSAA?
The admissions to various prestigious institutions in India, like IITs, IIITs, NITs etc. will be conducted through JoSAA. JoSAA Counselling will be done through 6 rounds. JEE qualified candidates have to apply online for JoSAA counselling 2022.
7. How much rank is required for JoSAA?
JoSAA has given the cut off ranks for the previous years. Candidates can check the opening and closing ranks through the official website.
8. How do I apply for JoSAA 2022?
Candidate has to register for online JoSAA Counselling at their official website. Online registration started on 12-09-2022.
9. How to check mock seat allocation in JoSAA?
Candidates can check the mock seat allocation at the JoSAA Official website. The JoSAA mock seat allocation will be declared two times by JoSAA 2022.

10. Is JoSAA Counselling Free?
Online Registration and participation in JoSAA Counselling are free for JEE Qualified candidates. Once the seat is allocated in JoSAA the candidates have to pay the fee specified by their respective allotted Institution as per their category and other rules and regulations.
