UGC NET
University Grants Commission (UGC) has entrusted the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the task of conducting the UGC NET. The UGC NET Test is conducted to find the eligibility of Indian Nationals for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship, and Assistant Professor in Indian Universities and Colleges.
Till June 2018, the National Eligibility Test was conducted in 84 subjects by CBSE. From December 2018 onwards, the UGC-NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Awarding of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/ or Eligibility for Assistant Professorship will be determined by the performance of the candidates in Paper-I and Paper-II of UGC NET. If the candidate is qualified only for Assistant Professorship then will not be considered for Junior Research Fellowship.
Candidates who qualify for the eligibility test for Assistant Professorship will be subjected to the respective universities, colleges, and state governments’ rules and regulations.
Normally UGC NET exam will be conducted 2 times a year. Due to COVID-19, the December 2021 exam got delayed. In order to regularize the UGC NET exam cycles National Testing Agency NTA has merged the December 2021 and June 2022 exam. The merged cycle exam was conducted in 4 phases. The UGC NET Exam was conducted beginning on July 9 and ending on October 14. The first phase was conducted from July 9 to 12, the second phase from September 20 to 23, the third phase from September 29 to October 4, and the last phase from October 8 to 14.

No. There shall be no re-evaluation/rechecking of result. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained by NTA
Can PhD be done without NET?
For PhD admissions some universities are conducting their own entrance examinations.
Is job guaranteed after UGC NET?
The UGC NET qualified candidates can get a chance to qualify for the JRF for 2 years. Qualifying in UGC NET will not guarantee a job by UGC. But the UGC NET qualified candidates will have plenty of good chances to have good prospects in their career.
Is NET qualification lifetime?
UGC NET qualification will be valid for life time. But for JRF the candidate has to apply to the respective research institute withing 3 years to get any JRF assistance.
Can I qualify NET in 2 months?
Those candidates who have very good grip on their core subjects, with thorough and systematic preparation can get qualified in NET in 2 months.
