JEE Main 2023
The National Testing Agency NTA has released the examination calender for the academic year 2023-2024. The JEE Main 2023 examination will be conducted in two sessions. The First Session will be on 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 January 2023, and the Second Session of examination will be on 06, 08, 10, 11, and 12 April 2023.
National Testing Agency NTA
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization. It was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI). The NTA is set up under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standards tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions.
The objectives of NTA:
- To conduct efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission.
- To undertake research on educational, professional, and testing systems to identify gaps in the knowledge systems and take steps for bridging them.
- To produce and disseminate information and research on education and professional development standards.
NTA Examination Calendar for Academic Year 2023-24

About JEE Main 2023
The Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main will be conducted by the National Testing Agency, NTA. The JEE Main 2023 Examination will comprise two papers.
Paper 1 – This examination will be conducted to give admissions to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B.Tech.) at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs), and Institutions/Universities funded/recognized by participating State Governments. JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is conducted for admission to IITs.
Paper 2 – This examination will be conducted to give admission to B. Arch and B. Planning courses in the country.
The JEE Main 2023 – It will be conducted in 02 (two) sessions for admissions in the next academic session. Two sessions will benefit the candidates in the following ways:
- The candidate will get Two opportunities, to improve the score in the examination if they are not able to give their best on the first attempt.
- On the first attempt, the candidate will get the feel of the examination and may correct the mistakes made by him on the second attempt.
- The Two opportunities will prevent the year wastage for a candidate if someone fails to appear in the first session due to any reasons.
- If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as the Board examination), then he/she will not have to wait for one entire year.
- Candidates need not appear for both sessions. Candidates can attend one session. But if a candidate appears for both sessions, then his/her best of the JEE Main 2023, NTA scores will be considered for the preparation of the Merit List/Ranking by NTA.
JEE Main 2023 Examination Dates
JEE Main 2023 Session 1 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.): Examination will be held on 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 January 2023
JEE Main 2023 Session 2 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.): Examination will be held on 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11 and 12 April 2023.
The Two sessions will ensure that the JEE Main 2023 Examination will not interfere with the Board examinations, which may be held at different times across the States/UTs.
Paper 2A and Paper 2B (B. Arch and B. Planning) will also be held twice a year (January and April 2023).
Changes in the JEE Main 2023 by NTA
- It has been decided to provide choices in one section of each subject of Paper 1 and Part-I of Paper 2A and 2B to cater to the decision of different Boards across the country regarding the reduction of the syllabus.
- However, the total number of questions to be attempted will remain the same (Physics – 25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25), wherever applicable.
NTA NEET UG 2023 Exam Date
The NTA NEET UG 2023 Exam Date is announced by the National Testing Agency. The NTA NEET UG 2023 Exam will be conducted on 07 May 2023. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET (UG)] – 2023 detail schedule like online application submission, payment of fee, syllabus, and other details will be notified by NTA in due course of time.
